Archive Entry #006 — The Footsteps Above the Ceiling
Recorded: 1981 • Location: Derbyshire
The house had no upper floor.
The sound began in the early hours, always between two and three in the morning. Slow footsteps, measured, as if someone were pacing from one end of the ceiling to the other.
The owner initially assumed it was an animal in the loft, though the property had no loft access and no crawl space.
When a builder was called to investigate, he confirmed there was nothing above the ceiling but empty roof space.
The footsteps continued for several months and then stopped without explanation.
The house was sold shortly after.
The new occupants reported nothing unusual.
